Alejandra Armitage
Alejandra is a writer and social researcher based in the UK. Her career began in 2017, with the publication of a poem titled Ode to Full-Fat Yoghurt. Since then, her work has appeared across print and digital creative writing publications, political magazines, academic journals, online blogs, and self-help e-books. She has also organised and hosted several open mic nights, poetry slams and community writing events.
Alejandra's academic interests are broad, focusing primarily on histories of medicine, mental illness, mythology, witchcraft, and identity-building. Her master's thesis on understandings of mental illness in the Mexican newspaper press was nominated for the 2022 Rees-Davies Award for best Master's thesis in the UK, in any area of History.
